The ThinkPad X1 features Windows 8.1 out of the box. The portable computer comes in a variety of permutations and combinations with regards to the internals of the device. The ThinkPad X1 can take up to an Intel Core i7 Haswell processor and and a maximum of 8GB of RAM. The entry-level variant comes with a 1,600 x 900 pixel resolution display, but buyers can upgrade to a QHD aka 2K 2560 x 1440 pixel IPS display panel. The device features a front-facing snapper which is able to do 720p video at max. On the storage front, the X1 comes with up to 512GB of high-speed SSD storage. Connectivity side of things include a USB 2.0 port, a USB 3.0 port, a 4-in-1 card reader, Bluetooth 3.0 and optional 3G. According to the company, battery life on the X1 is estimated to be around 8 hours which is quite impressive. The laptop features an adaptive keyboard that features a touch sensitive strip on top. Depending on your style of usage, the system defines what’s shown on the input strip. The ThinkPad X1 is priced $1,299 and Lenovo would be shipping the device early February onwards.
